Flight Everlasting

Posted on June 8, 2010 with 0 comments
Just uploaded a new piece called Flight Everlasting to the music tab.  I've been working on recording the direct signal from the amp, mic'ing the amp, and also placing a microphone in front of the guitar and mixing the 3 signals together.  I'm happy with the sound...more songs to come.

I just posted a small bit of a piece played through the Fishman Soloamp.  I just put one Blueberry mic in front of the amp recording in mono.http://www.daveguitar.com/audio/soloamp1_hifi.m3uThe K&K pickup and DPA 4099 mic are going to the edb-1 preamp. The edb-1 balanced output goes to the soloamp channel one. The edb-1 line out goes to the K&K progression tube preamp, and the progression main out goes to the aux in on the soloamp.I'd like to put up a few more short examples but it's too late right now

I've been doing some open mics and just played at the Living Room on April 15th.  Testing some of the new material I've been writing

I broke down and got the Fishman solo amp last night, had to drive like crazy to get home in time to see 24!  The guy at the evil empire guitar center was taking forever.  Anyway, this thing rocks, it's going to change alot of things.

recording

Things to experiment with for recording
1. need to use lowcut filter
2. I am in the same room as the speakers, so the mics are picking up not only the speaker sound but my voice.  Need to figure out the best way to capture the voice, and still capture room sound of percussion on guitar.
3. Record direct from vocal headset mic.
4. Compression pedal frees up two limiter channels.
5. Need to setup up the mic gain again taking voice into account, then set limiter.  The guitar will probably be quieter, make this up with the direct input.
